在5G NR討論中，有人覺得PSCell這個名字不合適，因為PSCell幾乎99%都是做PCell的功能，但是歸屬上還是屬於SCell，變成有些不適用於PSCell的SCell功能，需要另外指出【for SCells except PSCell】之類的用語，但是又不想改動SPEC太多，所以想把PSCell從SCell類別獨立出來另立門戶，所以改叫【PSCell】〔咦，怎麼還是一樣？〕但是是【Primary SCG Cell】的縮寫。目前，還在討論中，讓我們繼續看下去吧〔這樣我才可以寫下集〕。

在上一篇【PSCell & SpCell 傻傻分不清楚？】中提到PSCell在LTE代表Primary Secondary Cell，但在5G NR可能是代表不同的意思。在RAN2#101會議中，同意將Primary Secondary SCell 改成 Primary SCG SCell[1]。功能上來說，NR PSCell還是維持LTE PSCell的角色；不同的地方是PSCell不再屬於SCell[2]，所以在SPEC撰寫上，如果要同時描述PSCell和SCell，就需要明確寫出【PSCell and SCell】或【PSCell/SCell】。
